Midwifery Care
Care for you, your pregnancy and your growing family.
Congratulations on your pregnancy.
Choosing your midwife is an important decision. You’re choosing someone who will walk alongside you through pregnancy, labour and birth, and those first precious weeks with your new baby.
I’m Liz Greene, a registered midwife providing maternity care throughout Eastern and Northern Southland and West Otago.
My approach is calm, practical and grounded in evidence-based care. I want you to feel heard, informed and confident in the decisions you make for yourself, your baby and your whānau.
Your care, from pregnancy to parenthood
Continuity of care means having a midwife who gets to know you, your pregnancy and what matters to you.
Throughout your pregnancy, I’ll provide regular antenatal care, monitor the wellbeing of you and your baby, talk through your options and help you prepare for labour, birth and becoming a parent.
Antenatal appointments are held at my clinic in Gore.
When it’s time to meet your baby, I support women birthing in Gore, with care in Invercargill when secondary maternity services are required.
After your baby arrives, I continue to provide postnatal care for up to six weeks, supporting both you and your baby before transitioning your care to your GP and Well Child/Tamariki Ora provider.

Experienced care.
Informed choices.
I am both a Registered Midwife and Registered Nurse, with postgraduate qualifications in Well Child/Tamariki Ora and Counselling.
More than 20 years working alongside women and families has taught me that there is no single way to experience pregnancy, birth or motherhood.
My role isn't to make your decisions for you. It is to provide current, evidence-based information, answer your questions and help you understand your choices so that you can make informed decisions about your care.
You can expect care that is professional, confidential and non-judgemental — with plenty of room for honest conversations and questions along the way.
Let's meet.
Finding the right midwife matters.
I welcome an initial appointment where we can meet, talk about your pregnancy and expectations, answer your questions and make sure we feel like the right fit for one another.
I am contactable between 9am–5pm weekdays, with availability outside these hours for urgent midwifery care.
For midwifery enquiries, I appreciate a phone call so we can have a proper conversation about your care.
